With my facination of checkboards, I wanted to share my technique. Here's the fairly quick way to get a decent checkerboard painted. enjoy.
1. Basecoat with which ever of the checker board colors is lighter; reasoning behind this is that it's easier to cover up lighter colors versus going lighter colors over darker ones.
2. Using your secondary darker color, create the 'grid' - don't worry about the lines not being perfect; it can be up when the alternating squares are filled in.
3. Start painting alternating squares with your secondary darker color.
4. If required, go over the darker color with a second coat of paint.
5. Use a wash to even out tones.
ta-da- easy checkerboards.
